I love the summer. I love the weather, and besides the flies, I love riding outside. I love the shore, I love having no term papers.

I also dread it. I consider college my "8 months off" when most people beleive summer to be a vacation, really, think about it, term papers are FAR easier than working 7 days a week, I think!! I also have to go back to my ghost town, and as much as I love my horse, she ties me down there when all my other home friends are staying in cities for the summer. It's me, my horse, and my best friend in ghost town. The rest of them still there? Have been taken over by the cocaine bug.

But instead of dreading summer, I'm making objectives for myself. The rest of them can waste their money and their bodies on cocaine. I'm coming back to school in september better than I left.



1. Eating Well. Water water water, lots of green. No soda. No fried crap. No fast food. Am I a saint? No. Soda is allowed with alcohol because I need to let loose every now and then. But how often do I drink? In the summer, hardly ever. Unless I'm sipping a rare vodka and coke, WATER ONLY. I've started this rule already at school and I feel so much better. Soda feels like lead in my veins!

2. Start Running Again. I think it's pathetic that the peak of my athetic career was high school. I always feel like crap about it. I rode horses, ran track, and played soccer at the same time. Then two knee surgeries later, I stopped. Well, I cant keep looking back at 16 years old. I'm running.

3. I WANT ABS. I WANT THEM AND I WILL HAVE THEM.


4. Valley will be jumping courses by the end of the summer. She's been doing SO well, she is finally over her jumping fear. The 3 weeks off she's about to have wont help her, but the 4 months of riding will.

5. Valley will go to a show. I want to show her this summer. Intro dressage and that's all, but still. She needs it. Now. If we dont do it now, when will we?

5. I will create a model show string for November. This means a lot of hermiting and not hanging out with idiots at random points of the late night. I cant sleep, but that doesnt mean I'm out somewhere, not sleeping. I'll work on art. I'll have a show string for the NJ model show.

6. I will sell more artwork. Plain and simple.

7. I will spend time with my dog. .... This is my last summer with her. I know it. She's old. There's something in her liver. She's happy and pain free, but whatever is in her liver... I know it will take her next winter. I love her.

8. If I am not working, or riding, or painting, or working out, I am at the shore. I will spend as little free time in this town as possible. I hate this town. I love the shore.


Basically, Sleep is for the weak. No lazyness. No sitting on someones couch in the basement while everyone smokes pot and I sit there and sip on a beer and think about how futile my existence is. No more dating inapropriate men knowing that I'll hate them in 16 days when I could be perfecting something else, like my art or my health.


SUMMER IS SERIOUS BUISNESS.
